I’m a big believer in getting actual results rather than creating this complicated system in order to look cool.
I think people focus too much on complicating simple systems before they’ve gotten the actual results to justify any reason to change it at all.
Whether it’s marketing companies going in and creating all these complicated funnels and these flashy reports with all the bells, whistles, information and clickable PDF etc…
Listen.
In the end, all the client wants is someone to actually call the phone… like, NOW.
Usually all this takes is a small, simple process on a few pages to get attention, tilt the decision scale in your favor and a clear action for the prospect call your clients phone.
Most marketers will spend a week building a complicated process that just confuses the prospect and scares them away.
So when you sort of cut out all the rest of the crap, you can actually make things more simple, get better results, and make the client more happy.
People get so caught up on the sexiness of complexity and how fancy they can make themselves look when, in the end, none of that crap even matters.
It isn’t going to increase your conversion rate, it’s not helping you stand out from the crowd and it’s not helping your clients at all.
All it’s going to do is add stress to you and your team, and add stress to your client because they have to wait for all of this stupid stuff that isn’t going to do them any good before launching the damn campaign!
I believe in simplifying everything, not only in my brick and mortar marketing campaigns… in all aspects of business and life.
I follow the 80/20 rule… 80% of my results come from 20% of my efforts. (Probably 90/10 if I’m honest.)
This is fact. I’ve tested it.
I was talking to someone the other week and they were asking me about what proposals we use…
They were surprised to hear we don’t do proposals.
They’re like “Oh, well how many clients do you got?”
(In a particularly snobby way, as to say we probably don’t have many clients if we run a business like THAT.)
“Well, a hundred or so.” I replied.
After an awkward moment of silence they said “And you haven’t done proposals?!”
“No, why do I need to do a proposal? Most of the time, I’ll jump on a quick call with my prospect and see if I can help them. If we can help them, I’ll explain how we can help them!”
And we’ll go ahead.
There’s no use complicating the system by putting a proposal in there.
It’s wasting my time and their time doing up a proposal!
All they want is for the phone to ring…
I focus on results.
We focus on keeping the clients happy because we know every client is another source for referral.
That’s one of the main reasons we’ve built this agency up to over 100 happy and active clients only through referrals…
We don’t even market our agency.
We have more than enough referrals flooding in every single day, just by making our clients happy and getting real results for them quickly, and simply.
We’re very much about making sure everyone’s a fan of our business.
It all starts by keeping it simple, and keeping it human.
For the sake of you, your team, and especially for the sake of your clients…
Don’t take yourself too seriously, don’t take your business too seriously, and don’t take life too seriously.
You don’t need to overcomplicate what is already working perfectly.
